Auction

Each placement starts at $100. The athlete selects one bidding rule for all placements in their participation. With $100 increments, bids must be multiples of $100 and at least $100 above the leader. With Double, the first bid is exactly $100 and each next bid is exactly twice the leader. The rule is fixed when the participation is created. There is no buy-now.

Money

Brands pay at checkout. A successful eligible bid is accepted automatically; there is no separate athlete approval step before payment. Athlete payouts become due after sponsorship delivery is approved.Your first race with a paid sponsorship has no platform commission. From your second sponsored race, SkinBid takes 20% of each approved sponsorship and you keep 80%. All placements on the same race share its commission rate. The first successfully paid bid selects your commission-free race. Drafts and races without paid sponsorships do not use the offer. The offer applies once per athlete account; cancellation or a refund does not transfer it to another race.

Delivery confirmation

After the athlete marks their participation complete, we email the brand and notify them in SkinBid 12 hours later. If the brand has not responded after 12 hours, we send a second email and notification. If there is still no response within 12 hours of that reminder, delivery is approved automatically and the athlete earns their share. A report of non-delivery goes to review. Each sponsorship is assessed separately. Brand confirmation or automatic approval replaces the requirement to upload proof photos.

Only mark your participation complete after you have finished. Brands must respond through their signed-in SkinBid account. Opening an email does not count as a response.

Payout timing

We initiate your payout within 10 business days after delivery approval and completion of your payout details. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays affecting the transfer. If the payment provider holds or delays the sponsorship funds, we initiate the payout within two business days after those funds are received and available to us. Arrival in your account depends on the receiving payment method.

Athlete rejection and refunds

Before bidding closes, an athlete may reject the current leading sponsorship. The rejected payment is queued for a full refund and cannot win. That brand cannot bid again on the same placement. The placement reopens from $100. Earlier bids are not reinstated or charged again automatically; eligible earlier brands may place a new bid themselves.

Displaced paid bids are refunded. A refund may remain pending while the payment provider processes it or an unsuccessful attempt is retried. Your bank may take additional time to display the refund.

Cancel and close

Whole-event cancellation is blocked while a held or won bid exists. Athlete rejection is a separate action available only before bidding closes. Each listing closes 48 hours before its stored event timestamp; use its displayed bidding deadline. After close, the winner cannot withdraw through the bidding flow.

Age

You must be 18 or older.

The mark

The athlete is responsible for printing and preparing the agreed logo, wearing it, and checking that the event organizer permits it. Two brands in the same category cannot sit on one body for the same event.
